Neil and Jenny Delmage of Naturescape are Perth’s ‘landscapers-to-the-stars’ (and mining magnates), but are likely to blush if they heard us call them that. They have designed gardens for the who’s who of Western Australia and ‘A Natural State’ is a 120-page coffee-table book showcasing their inspirational creations.

Their work is site-specific, waterwise, enduring and above-all, beautiful to behold. They’re definitely not your pop-an-agave-here, throw-in-some-cordylines-there and Bob’s-your-uncle kind of landscapers.

We love them because they think about gardens the way we think about design – it is all about making life better. They’re not afraid to get their hands dirty (boom tish) and this book is an incredible achievement in self-publishing. Written by The West Australian newspaper’s Kristen Watts, photographed by Naturescape themselves and designed by Bomba, the first edition is close to sold out in just six months. A second edition is flowering soon.
