Penelope Forlano is an interior designer, a product designer, a project manager, a university lecturer and a girl after our own hearts. She believes that “good design enriches life and connects with the emotions and memory to create a positive response”. And you can’t get a more positive response than an Australian Design Award.
For Forlano’s limited edition hanging rack, all of Bomba’s design thinking was focused upon overcoming just one problem – as soon as you package the Wild Creeper, you can’t see it. Its sexy curves get hidden away. Shame.
Our solution? To make the box just as beautiful as the product. And as functional. The deceptively economical two-colour packaging reflects the organic nature of this sculptural piece, has a raised base to house fixings, a peep-hole to view different media and a single colour sleeve that incorporates a mounting guide and care instructions. Out of the box design, we think.
